Congratulations to GAA London's Cricket Team for winning their first match, played against Monken Nomads Cricket Club.

Played on Sunday 28 May at Regents Park

On a hot summer’s day in central London, the crowds gathered at Regents Park to witness GAA London Cricket beat Monken Nomads CC.

Winning the toss, Monken Nomads CC elected to bat giving GAA London the opportunity to showcase their bowling attack. This proved decisive. Led by
Vijay Parmar, the speed bowling helped keep the Nomads score to 99 all out.

Pick of the bowlers was Rakesh Chauhan who took three wickets. This was assisted by Preyesh Champaneri and Vijay Parmar who took two wickets each. Chintan Parmar had a great bowl and catch, and Samir Kumar also claimed a wicket for himself.

This was aided by some great work in the field led by Devang Parmar.
Dilpesh Gohil, who played wicket keeper, was solid in keeping extra runs to a minimum, while Viraj Parmar claimed an excellent catch.

After lunch, GAA London responded well with the bat. Having lost an early wicket to LBW, Kamendu Patel led the scoring with 31 before being run out. This left Rohit Chavda and Viraj Parmar to steer the team home with both finishing not out on 25 and 28, respectively.

It was a great day out with both teams playing in the spirit of the game.
